thanksgiving feast

here are some pictures of my daughter at her thanksgiving feast at work. that girl can put away some food. while the other kids were just hamming it up for the camera or playing around my daughter was chowing down. maybe we should buy 2 turkeys for our family thanksgiving. :)

camping, sort of

this weekend my parents took their camper to a nearby state park. they stayed in it and we ended up just visiting them friday nite and saturday during the day. we wanted to camp too but audrey was alittle under the weather on thursday nite so we thought sleeping in our own beds was a better idea. it was alot of fun making smores and then cooking hot dogs on the fire, making mud pies and just enjoying being outdoors. and audrey loved my parents camper.

carving a pumpkin

audrey helped me get all the guts and seeds out (we will roast the seeds later, hopefully i will not eat them all, they are so good.) she didnt want to get her hands dirty so i, being a good mom made her get dirty. then i used a template that disney had for free a few years back and about 1 hour later after poking holes and sawing the openings i was done. i messed up on the headband part alittle and had to use toothpicks to hold it together. oh well. i still think i did a decent job.

in regards to the end

in looking at what the end of the world will be like before Jesus comes for us we should:

"keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man." (Luke 21:36)

pumpkin patch or something like that

we went to the pumpkin patch last weekend and it was fun. alittle more crowded than i would have liked it. one of my facebook friends described the sort of pumpkin patch we went to quite accurately i thought "more like a pumpkin lot" you get to pick out your pumpkin like a car as they are all lined up waiting for you.

more stuff

i added some fabric to a too-short dress for audrey.
i finished her costume for halloween.
and i made her a hopscotch blanket. the girl is obsessed with hopscotch. not the actual game but jumping on or around it.

my first shiner

last friday audrey and i went to chuck e cheese with some friends. the nite was fun and audrey even received a heart necklace.
all i got was my first shiner. the story behind it - audrey got excited at the sidewinder game and jumped up at the precise moment that i was bending down to tell her something and we collided.

whats going to happen at the end?

my church has been talking alot about the end of the world this summer and it has really gotten me to think about it. at first i felt really overwhelmed with it all. i mean an increase in wars, plagues, famines, violent storms and persecution - who wants that? its so easy to live in our easy lives and love Jesus and not think about times getting more difficult. but at some point Jesus is coming back for us and things will get rough. so after much prayer and thought i have decided i want to be ready. i want to know God's word so well that i can not be deceived. i want to love Jesus more than anything so i can stand up for Him no matter what.

and now for the stuff ive made lately

ive been making things. i finally tried making some baby legs. they are probably too short but i think they are so cute.
i made a sock monkey for audrey. i needed to try it out since i am making 2 for crafthope.com to give to some kids that have been burn victims. (i will add those to another post becuz they are not quite done) you gotta love the "cheese" picture.
and i made a ring sling. i have an awesome friend who keeps me busy making ring slings and here is another one.
and the last picture is just of audrey before we went out and played in the rain yesterday. i thought she looked so cute and grown up with her hands in her pockets.

audrey's 3rd birthday

for audrey's third birthday we did another family party. we went to the mall and rode the carousel. i think audrey rode at least 15 times with various family members and loved every minute.
my husband and i made the cupcakes to look like the carousel and i made her a little top and short outfit with carousel horses for the party. enjoy the pictures. oh yeah, i made her hair bow too.

were going to the zoo

my sister in law won some tickets to the zoo and invited us to go with her. audrey enjoyed herself quite a bit. heres some pictures. they are mostly just of audrey and various family members but random animal pictures can get boring.

girl's trip

so i have been wanting to blog about the girls trip that audrey and i went on with my mom to see my best friend from junior high and her mom and 2 daughters in oklahoma but how can you describe such a fun, relaxing time. so heres some pictures.

gift for a friend

i made another intial bow holder and here is a picture of the cute little girl it was for.

matching dresses

i made audrey and her friend maliyah matching dresses from a pillowcase and a little bit of extra fabric for the sleeves. i only have a picture of audrey's dress right now. so here it is.
i also made a coordinating dress for maliyah's little sister. but i dont have a picture of it yet. hint, hint amy. :)

happy fourth of july

we went and watched the fireworks in a parking lot close to the highlands last night with my 2 brothers. it was fun and they had some pretty great fireworks.this morning we went to the parade. we have a pretty good shady spot that we found last year so that was nice. audrey loved it. its so much fun going to parades when you have a little kid.
and tonight we go to gramps house for hot dogs and hamburgers and to swim. what a great weekend.
