ive been trying to get more mileage out of my closet by mixing and matching things that i have never thought of before. its kind of fun. so here is an example, here are the many ways i can wear my green dress.
i altered two shirts for myself recently. the first is from a pin from pinterest, making a polo into a tie-neck (im still trying to figure out if i like it).
the second is lace from a back of a shirt that i sewed to the front of a plain black t. i think it turned out awesome.
on mothers day i was able to have some major, uninterrupted sewing time and i finally finished this dress. it has been hanging in my "to finish" pile for the last 5, maybe 6 years. i think it turned out great and im glad that i still like it.
audrey and i went to joanns for their mothers day make and take. audrey made me a cupcake magnet with model magic. i think she did a great job.
then audrey and i made some flowers pictures. we used the bottom of the celery as a sort of "rose" stamp. audrey LOVED doing it so it looks like we will be doing it again, so i need to get some more paint.
i am sooooooo pleased by the things that miles is doing these days. he is walking at least 50% of the time now and he shoots baskets in his new basketball hoop all the time. and he started singing into audrey's microphone. he's so cute.
so because we live in a warm climate and summer is quickly approaching i decided to make some homemade deodorant. audrey wanted to help me because this is partly for her (and really why i wanted to make a healthy, safe choice).
we used cornstarch, baking soda, coconut oil, tea tree and peppermint essential oils. i have to say i am pleased with the stuff. i tried it too and it worked decently. the only down-side is that you have to leave it in the fridge because it will liquefy.
