kindergarten awards ceremony

just got back from audrey's kindergarten awards ceremony. she has loved school so much and is sad that it will be ending next week for the summer. i hope she always keeps that attitude of loving school.

 

pinterest fail

we tried to dye our flowers different colors and we failed. maybe if we had used the whole thing of food coloring it would have worked, and maybe if i had cut the stem every day for it to suck up the water better, i dont know. and let me tell you, cutting the stem was HARD. it was small and i could barely split it without just breaking it off.
here is the inspiration. yeah right. like anyone can cut a tiny stem 4 ways.

 im not even going to bother putting a before picture since it didnt work. the only change we saw was a very little blue on the white. fail.

field day

audrey had field day today. her favorite activity was the sack races. and while im not so sure that they should sell chips and candy during it i still like that audrey gets to have fun at field day. and lots of fun she did.

reading to the kitty

miles wanted to read to the kitty today.
i was just glad that he was not hitting her with the books. hes making progress in learning to be gentle to the kitties.

today miles pretended he was batman and borrowed mr. potato head's glasses.

 

i want to be like daddy

while my husband was mowing i let miles watch at our door. he got so excited and got his vacuum out. thats when i decided to make him really happy and i got his mower out. miles was so excited to be just like daddy.

 

finally fixed it

i have been wanting to fix audrey's hair bow holder for awhile now. i saw the loops for the headbands on pinterest and knew she needed those plus some added length so we could put more bows on.
yeah, its finally fixed!

free food and what to do when you need gift wrap

we got some free food from firehouse subs today. apparently their nascar racer won this weekend so they were giving out free subs for an hour to the first 100 people. our location only had about 30 people there. it was awesome. here is audrey enjoying her $6 sandwich that we got for free.

and here's what you do when you cant get into the room with the gift bags before a birthday party (they are in my son's room and he was napping). i just cut open a paper sack and wrapped the gift with the wording on the inside and then let audrey decorate it. she loved doing it and i think it turned out cute.

my little fashionista

here is my little fashionista. when she put this outfit together she said that it looked so much better with the belt and with the shirt tucked in. what a cutie!!
(just a tip for parents of younger kids, belts can take too long to remove in the bathroom)

first spelling test

audrey will have her first spelling test today. i find that to be a big milestone for my daughter.
